Mama's feeling a little sappy lately toward you. Not sure if it's the approaching holidays or the fact that the tiny little baby above is growing as such a fast clip. I never, ever in a million years imagined that I'd love you so so much. The past month you have exploded in personality. You are much more interactive with people and especially love to flirt with the ladies. You like to watch things going on around you. You recognize me and Daddy when we walk into a room. We have so much fun playing games with you and making you laugh over and over and over again. You have two teeth. You say ma-ma. You love pinching my skin and still enjoy pulling my hair (just one or two at a time though).
I was so proud of you on the airplane. SO PROUD. Three people turned to us and told us what a great little baby you were, because you didn't squawk during the 4 hour flight from California to Chicago. You love your Oma and Grandpa. You met great-grandpa Don, who is turning 91 in about 2 months. You also met great-grandma S who is turning 92 soon. I'm so pleased they met you and got to see who stole my heart.
Uncle Kevin brought over your cousin, Aiden, who was just one week old. You sat on my lap and stared at him, reached out your fat hand and tried to touch his hair. You were really interested in him, so small, bundled tightly in a blanket. Maybe you were telling him, "Hold on, it gets better" or maybe just "I love you. I love you no matter who you are."
There's someone you didn't meet though, Brixton. She was very special to my parents, brought them a lot of joy and laughter in her five short years. Abby, their pug. Oma was so excited for you to see her, to laugh at her, for her to give you a pug kiss. But God called her back to him, just a week before we went to visit. Abby's sitting on God's lap now Brix, and she saw you visit. She saw you comfort them and distract them from their grief. She saw that you will now be a source of joy and laughter for them and that it's okay that she had to go. They were so good to her, Brix. They are good, your Oma and Grandpa.
Love,
Mommy
