No-tivation

I've got guests arriving in less than 24 hours and I'm so excited!

But, I still have much to do.

And TLC's A Baby Story was just on, so I had to watch that and cry a bit.
And I had to drink my coffee (yes, coffee, just a cup).

Then I had to blog, because, well, I just had to (and as you can see, I had some REALLY important stuff to write).

And if you're already on the computer, you might as well read some other blogs.

And check Facebook.

But I still have to do about 3 loads of laundry, sweep and mop, vacuum, wash windows, dust, roast some chicken, re-dye my hair after a botched attempt at covering up highlights last night, clean out my car, do a light clean on the bathrooms (sorry, but if your husband is asked to clean the bathrooms and he's done 10 minutes later, something's wrong--love you babe!).

I did manage to make my homemade pasta sauce this morning, put in a load of laundry, clean up the kitchen and take out the trash.

I'm still in my PJs though.  And my teeth are unbrushed.  Kinda gross.

So goes my notivation lately.

Odds and Ends

Dear Brixton,

So, how's it going?  Are you getting uncomfortable in there?  Thinking about coming out soon?  I hope you just feel like staying in there another month or so and then you can come out.  That's what Mr. Doctor said anyway.

I washed some more of your teeny-weeny clothes.  I love how tiny they are and I imagine your lanky little body in them with your screaming gummy mouth and crinkled eyes and a clock that says 2:17am.  Oh well.

I'm realizing babies are kind of like treasure chests.  You get one and you don't know what's it going to be like.  Will he be a sleeper?  Will he have colic? Will he be constantly fussy?  Will he cling?  Will he smile easily?  These are the things I think about in the night.

About 2 weeks ago the sleep started going.  I only go potty 1-2 times during the night, but because of this rib pain I'm always having to change positions.  Now it's to the point that if I wake up, I'm up for an hour or so.  Doing what?  Thinking of baby stuff, worrying, making to-do lists in my head, worrying, composing blog posts, and...worrying.

I'm not worried so much about labor.  I'm a little worried about months 0-4.  I'm a lot worried about the rest of your life.

Several weeks ago, the worries were just flying at me.  They started off simply: what if he is riding his bike and falls? What if he is a slow reader and I don't have the patience to help him?  What if he's invited to a slumber party and I can't let him go?  (I could do a whole post on the dangers of slumber parties..and maybe I will).

Then I got more complex: What if he's 12 and starts drinking?  What if he's driving his car and texting and kills someone?  What if he dies? What if he becomes a Raiders fan?

That's when the real pain set in.  The suffocating panic.  The unsolvable situation.  If something bad happened to him, how could I go on?  How would this affect Brendan and I?

I went into the kitchen, where Brendan was. (And really, poor Brendan, he's in there blissfully unaware, doing something as simple as making himself a Cup-O-Soup, thinking about....kittens and bikes and butterflies...and I swoop in all tears and death and worry).

I folded myself up into my little wing position, cue crumpled face and the bad kind of crying voice and said, "Why did we make something that we are just going to have to worry about for the rest of our life?"

Ahh..and there it was.  In that moment, I became a mother.

The Surprise That Wasn't

This coming weekend Brendan and I are having our long-distance baby shower and we can't wait.  Being pregnant away from friends and family is tough, especially your first.  And to expect people to fly all the way from the four corners of the country is way too much to ask.  I felt sad about not having a baby shower, as this is my only baby, and not getting to share that time with people.

My bestie from San Diego, Shantala, offered to put one on for me, but it didn't make sense to spend $400 to fly "home" and then haul gifts and such back.  I could just spend that money on baby.  Plus, my friends and family are so scattered: Seattle, Denver, New Jersey, Florida, NorCal.  It meant a lot of people would have missed out anyway.  I kind of gave up on the idea.

Then Shantala decided to throw me a "long-distance" shower, which made me feel all kinds of special and gave me a great excuse to wear a cute dress and take lots of pics of my handsome man and my growing belly.  I'll be posting about the shower, so I'll save all the ends and outs of what we did for that.

Here's how surprises are ruined:

First of all, I'm a renowned surprise ruiner.  I'm a bit controlling when it comes to situations I'm involved in and like to know what to expect, so while I love surprises, I also love knowing.

My suspicions were raised when I noticed that Brendan and Shantala had been texting and calling.  I never saw what they were texting, but I knew that if the two of these rascals were talking and I didn't know about it, then a plot was being formed.

So I started to do what I always do: I hounded Brendan.  I found holes in his story, I dropped hints to see his reaction, I gaged his physical responses, I even saw his crinkly-eyed "I'm-lying" smile.  But he remained strong.  He didn't give in and after a few days of relentless attacks, he convinced me that Shantala was actually just sending a big ole' box that he knew what to do with.

I had moved on.  I didn't think about a visitor.  I had seen the airline prices and knew that was a stretch.  Yesterday Mr. Brendan was out building a new compost box for our garden.  I sat on the couch and popped open the laptop when I noticed his Google calendar was already up.

And there it was: Friday, April 1st. Shanti.

Well, now I knew the gig was up.  And I felt kind of sad that I knew.  But there was more.

Saturday, April 2nd. Lisa.

Lisa?!

Yep, my sister-in-law from New Jersey was coming in just for our little baby shower.

I ran out to the garden in a tearish state.

I had to explain that I wasn't snooping (honest) and that if someone is keeping a surprise from someone else they should probably close their calendar with that information on it.

We stood in our little dirt garden and I cried a little bit, just at the excitement of having real, live people in our home (I love guests!), but also at the sheer flattery I felt from people caring about us so much that they would do that. It made me feel really, really loved and excited to share this day with them.

As a result, I've found some of my motivation again! I worked more on Brix's room, washed baby laundry, cleared off the dining table (the place that we never eat at, but serves as a dumping ground for all things random) and reorganized our kitchen cabinets!

So hooray! I can't wait to have girl time, have the chitter-chatter of girls in my home, oooh and aaah over little baby things, make Brendan sick doing it, and do that high pitched girl laugh that we do.  Yay girls!

A Case of the Blahs

I don't know what's wrong with me.  I have two weeks of "spring break" aka only having to work part-time.  I have tons of projects to work on.  I have lists upon lists upon lists.

But yesterday I sat on the couch just staring.

Not even watching TV (like days prior), just sitting there. Thinking of all I had to do.  Wondering when I was going to find my motivation.  Waiting for the sun to come out and inspire me.

Didn't happen.

And apparently my gall bladder is fine despite my having about 7 of the symptoms saying that something isn't fine.  This is what the ultrasound said.  But, they told me my liver is enlarged.  Hmmmm...

Is it from fruity cocktails years ago with friends? (Doubtful, I was never much of a drinker).

The "vodka incident" on St. Patrick's Day my senior year? (Also doubtful, as this was enough to make me shun vodka for the next 16 years).

Or is there another culprit?

Because during the ultrasound I felt a little monster awaken inside of me.  And you know what we saw?  Said little monster kicking the heck out of my organs!  The tech said, "Wow, he's really beating up your gallbladder!" And sure enough, I turned my head just enough to see the world's tiniest leg kick-kick-kicking right to the sore part under my rib.

This morning I was shaken awake by this kicking, the pain was so intense.  I wonder now if it's possible my liver is enlarged not because of any abuse it's taken from me, but rather from a fetus bruising it repeatedly for the past few months.

Tomorrow I have my 32 week appointment, which hopefully will go as all the others have: pee in a cup, answer a few questions, listen to baby's heartbeat and you're back in the car in 15 minutes. Maybe 20 if there's a blood draw.

Oh. My. Gosh.

I didn't even tell you guys this part.

When I went in a week ago, they requested a blood draw.  I went into the little lab area, where the soft strains of Wham! were playing from a small boom box in the corner.  A man was there, his back to me while on the phone.  He was wearing lavender scrubs.  The color really looked good on him, especially since it complimented his frosted, layered hair with rat tail.  And his gold jewelry everywhere.  He was really, really nice and tried to distract me during the needle-entering-the-skin part.

"So, do you know what you're having?"

"Yeah, it's a boy."

"Oh! What are you going to name him?"

"Brixton."

"Oh! What's his middle name?"

"James."

"Oh! BJ!"

I'm usually not without a lack of something to say, but when someone's holding a needle into the middle of your arm and they just pointed out that your kid's initials are the kind of thing that can get you arrested in a truck stop bathroom I was taken aback.

I think I just mumbled something about his father being a BJ too, which made the whole thing even worse and I just didn't want to talk about BJ and all the connotations and man, I felt embarrassed.  Of course, we always knew Brix's initials would be BJG, and yes, there's a BJ in there, but geez.

What should I have said?

What's in a Name?

Dear Brixton~

There are a few things you should know about your name.  First of all, some people (particularly from England) are going to hate it.  In fact, they might make fun of Mommy and Daddy for giving you that name.  Brixton is the name of a tough, poverty-stricken neighborhood in south London that is most infamously known for some race riots that occurred in 1981 (with other events happening in 1985, 1995 and 1999).  So, a lot of people have a negative connotation with the name Brixton.

Of course, we didn't name you after the neighborhood and living in America, we don't have the connotation that most English people have.  So when English people (inparticular) make fun, just point out how long ago the riots were, talk about connotation and ask if the English are known for holding on to their patches of violence like medallions in a chest.  Also, you could ask if the name Jack underwent a similar persecution after "Jack the Ripper," or if Henry declined in popularity during the reign of Henry the 8th who, by most accounts, was a big jerk.  If all else fails, you can point out that we didn't name you Adolf.

Just be aware, to them, it's kind of like we named you Compton.

We also didn't name you after The Clash song, The Guns of Brixton. (Or the Nouvelle Vague version, which Mommy likes better).

You aren't named after the hat company, Brixton, either.  Though we do really like their hats and Daddy knows them and they were stoked when he told them what we were naming you.

Your name doesn't have a listing in those "what does my name mean" lists, so you can't go around saying your name means "Loyal Defender" or reciting that your name is Hebrew for "Rising Sun".

That would be kinda cool though.

Pregnant women might think your name is Braxton, but that's just because they are having Braxton-Hicks contractions and are so focused on their pregnancies that their brains change the /I/ to the /ae/ sound.  Mommy just busted out her linguistics there...hope I got it right with the phonetic alphabet.

Kids might call you 'brickhead' or something on the playground.  I knew a boy once named Tucker, so we'll just say he has it a lot worse than you.

So sorry, my sweetpea, we have no real connection to your name.  When people ask "How'd you come up with that?" our story is weak.  We heard it years ago, liked it and even discussed naming a dog it.  But Mommy thought it was too good of a name, so even though she didn't want any kids, she plucked it out of the options for dog names and named you all that time ago.

I love you Brixton.

Who Peed in the Gene Pool?

So I always wonder, what will Brixton look like?  I dug out these way old pics of Brendan and me in an effort to guess.
First thing-I was blond as a child.

I had a lot of hair for a 15 month old..

There's a touch of ginger in my family...

Seriously, if you know my mom please back me up.
Good genes.
And..I've always been a ham.

Really, a ham.  But good teeth.

But it seems that many times baby boys resemble their fathers more (not always, but it's a reasonable assumption). So let's peek at Brendan when he was a wee babe and see what we're in store for from his genes:
Precious.

Brendan was a blondie too as a child..

Look at the ultrasound pic at the chin and lips..similar?
Also, that's not dooky on his pants, just some fun old-fashioned photo aging..like an age spot I guess.

  Little chin and turtle lips?

Skinny like a little toothpick..and already gettin' his party on..great.

But then...

Brendan and his brothers.  This could be in our gene pool.  I've looked at this picture so many times.  It makes me laugh so hard!!

Brendan said, "What if he's weird looking when he comes out?"
Well, we'll know what side of the family to blame, thank you very much.

It's All For You Kid

Dear Brixton,

When Mommy first realized you were growing in there all those months ago, she didn't realize what being pregnant was going to truly be like.  We started with a dash of nausea (which, thanks B, only last about 2 weeks and was so very mild).  We had a lot of food aversions and some cravings (I guess--just for the same stuff I always want--sweets, but pregnancy was a great excuse to order dessert at dinner or make Daddy take me out at 10pm for ice-cream).

I think the main course of my pregnancy yuckiness has been just being a plain old miserable moody-mood bag.  Wow!  It's kind of like 40 weeks of PMS with a few happy days thrown in there.  Luckily, Daddy was already used to me being a crabby patty sometimes, so he's been great at just letting things go.  Thanks Daddy.

There are some things though, that I thought would just never happen to me.  Case in point: Linea Negra.  Yep, I just thought that happens to other (unfortunate) people and I wouldn't have to see that.  Well, guess who has it now?

(Raising hand)

It's not very dark, more of a linea light-negra if you will.  But it's there, along with something else I never even dreamed of happening: a hairy stomach and it's sidekick--the hairy belly button.  Together, these two are making belly button lint the size of gumballs.  Except....

My belly button has popped out.  So the aforementioned lint has nowhere to reside.  Instead, a very icky belly button is just sitting there, waiting for Daddy to make fun of, which he does, calling it "dirty." (He might be right, I can barely see it).

And now I can barely shave my legs.  It's like a Cirque de Soleil act in the bathtub or a splashing walrus.  I found hairs on the backs of my legs that were (no joke) about an inch long.  An inch.  ________ About like that.  Wow.

My stomach itches, my gallbladder might be fried, sleep is getting a little tough...but..

My hair. Wow!  Thanks Brix!  It's so thick!  I wave it from side to side when I need Daddy's attention.  I kind of feel awesome right now with the hair.  I know it's temporary and will fall out (by the handfuls as one helpful friend put it) but for now I'm going to pretend it's just the norm.

By the way Baby, all this discomfort, the hairy legs, the belly button, the gas (and we didn't even go there!) is all for you.  And it's so worth it just to feel your little kicks and jabs reminding me that you are coming soon and I won't even remember it all after seeing you.

Love,
Mommy

Bumpin'--31 Weeks

I'm a little bummed on how these pics turned out.  My "photog" is currently out of town and I was lazy so I just used my point and shoot camera.  Lesson learned.

 Stats: 31 weeks, 2 days.
        Have gained almost 30 lbs!
        No stretch marks (yet..?)
        Sleeping bad.
        Scratchy skin.
        Appetite slowing way down.

I'm getting really excited for our Long
Distance Baby Shower coming up on April
2nd!  I'm going to miss the presence of real, live people to share the day with, but I will have B with me and a lovely little cake that I'm going to attempt to make from scratch.
The weather here has been nicer, though I think only one day was truly nice.  It actually got up to 65 one day and when I went outside in the yard to investigate, I noticed all these little green shoots were coming up and flowers had started to bloom.  Most amazingly, this huge tree outside our house started blooming--literally overnight.  Keep up the good work spring!

I have a special ultrasound scheduled for Tuesday morning, but not to see baby.  Instead, my liver and gallbladder will be on display to check for indications of problems.  I've been having lots of pain under my right rib and going through my back--like someone has taken a hot poker and stuck you through with it.  Sleeping is the worst now.

I wonder if they'll print some pictures out of my organs like with the baby!  Look how cute my liver is!  What a well shaped gall bladder!

*On a side note, B travels for work sometimes and when that happens, the house falls apart.  Dirty dishes, spilled rice on the counter, clothes on the floor, stuff generally everywhere.  B come home!  I need you!

Etsy Shopping Spree-Final Edition

I love it when everything comes together at the same time--like when the last three items I'm waiting for from my Etsy purchases all arrive on the same day!  What fun!

9. Bicycle Onesie
Brixton's Daddy is big time into cycling.  Not like he rides in the Tour de France or something, but he totally would.  He loves his bikes.  Bike-s. Plural, like when we first met he had to explain the functions and practicalities of owning 4 or 5 different bikes.  So, when I saw this little onesie, I thought it would be a fun addition to Brixton's closet and something that he could wear when we go to watch Daddy at a race or something. Simple, cute and to the point, this onesie from Tiny Vessel Apparel was the perfect fit for us! Not to mention they are a Christian centered shop, where you can have your baby give props to God and Jesus with some cute shirts!  Love it!
(click photo to link to shop)

10. Little Hen Rattle
Many times when picking out little toys for Brix, I tend to find things that are related to us somehow.  Like this hen rattle from For Stitches Sake.  Anyone who knows my mom knows that she had a serious decorating phase that involved chickens, hens, roosters, eggs.  I think at one point the count was up over 100.  So, this little rattle reminded me of her.  It's soft, well-made and has a sanity-saving rattle sound (aka not very loud).  I think Brix will love it.  Also, check out their selection of sweet little hats and booties!

11. Teether Doll
I liked the simplicity of this doll so very much.  A few colors, a knotted hat, and a little wooden ring for fat baby fingers to hold and gooey little gums to chew.  This Cosy Life offers more than teether dolls though--pop over and look at their little crowns, wands, gloves and hats! Well done!

My shopping spree is ended now, but next time I have some extra cash and Brixton needs some upgrades in his toys and clothes I'm going to check out Etsy first.  I have to say, not only is it fun getting those packages in the mail, but the personal notes and kind words from the sellers make a big difference too.  It's not some corporation, but just a little someone making great stuff at their house.

Love~Kelley
P.S. If you wouldn't mind, could you vote for us? Thanks :-)

Etsy Shopping Spree-Round Two

Now where was I?

We looked at the elephant, the tie onesies, the wooden states, the wooden cars, Inchy and the wool sweater. Here are three more things I got (and I'm still waiting on another three!  Yippee!)

6. Baby Rattle
When I got this rattle in the mail, and this is going to sound weird, I rubbed it on my lips.  Yep.  Weird.  But the wood was so smooth, smelled so good and just felt great that I did it without thinking.  I guess Lola felt the same way about the rattle.  I found it about an hour after receiving it on Brixton's floor, chewed up, bite marks in the lovely grain and bits on the carpet.

I started bawling.

I took it really personally that she did that.  It was like she chewed my baby.  She ruined the rattle. Brixton's fat hand would never get to hold it.  And all my dreams were crushed.  Luckily, Brendan took it down to the basement and sanded it for about an hour, getting out most of the rough spots and making it look okay again.  Not as beautiful, but I guess now it has a story attached to it.

You can find a rattle like this one from Painted Turtle, a friendly Canadian couple with some beautiful wood-working skills.  They use a variety of woods: cherry, maple, walnut and white ash.
(click pic to link to shop)

7. Nursery Mobile
I'm really picky about what's going in Brixton's room.  I hate that boy rooms seem hell-bent on having a theme, like safari animals or race cars.  I'd rather just have a hodge-podge of interesting things to look at, but at the same time I'm no design champion, so I just go with what I think looks right.

I found our nursery mobile on Little Dreamers Inc and knew the colors and shapes were right for me.  Initially, I was daunted by the price tag of the mobile, until I saw that she also offers a DIY version.  Sure enough, all the bits and pieces came together on a lazy Sunday in front of the TV and while it took me 4-5 hours, it saved me lots of cash and I can take some pride in having done it myself (and take credit for all the wonky bits I did wrong!).

8. Jingle Balls
Finally for today, I found these cute, soft and great quality jingle balls.  I love the idea of having a ball I can toss at Brixton one day and if it hits him in the face or something it won't cause a river of tears and hurt feelings (from me!).  The stitching on these is of excellent quality and I think these will last for a long while (as long as Lola doesn't think they are for her!)  Additionally, Mommy can keep her sanity because the "jingle" is very, very quiet.  Thanks Little Ladybugz!

Still to come..a bicycle onesie, a teething doll and a hen baby rattle!

Please vote for us by clicking twice! Thanks!

Friday Night's Dream

Let me start by saying I have always had vivid, weird dreams, so pregnancy hasn't changed that one bit.  But this dream was so horrible and such a good reminder at the same time, that I just feel like sharing...

In the dream...

Brendan had gone into a swamp, called McGroggy Swamp and had been missing for three days.  I was watching news footage of the rescue efforts from a hotel room with my mother-in-law.  I had no hope.  I knew he was gone.  I felt like I was suffocating.

I went outside of the hotel and started screaming and crying.  Praying to God.  "Please let him be okay! I can't do this without him! Please please please."  The silence of the night was the only answer.  I felt like this was one situation that had no solution.  There was no pleading my case or making a few calls to see what I could do.  It was done.  It couldn't be changed.  He was gone.

I thought about him all alone in the swamp.  Was he scared? Was he cold?  Did he suffer?  I thought about how all Brixton would know of his Daddy would be the goofy pics we have together, showing a smiling face that Brixton would never get to touch.  How I would forever mourn the loss of my first B.

Then I woke up...

Instantly started hyperventilating and sobbing at the same time.  Poor Brendan (who actually was just sleeping beside me and not lost in McGroggy Swamp) thought I was going into labor. I could barely get the story out without having to interrupt it with fresh tears because it felt so real and it felt so horrible.  And I was so glad it wasn't.  So glad he's with me.

I know it was just a dream, but it made a little change in me.  Now I say I love you every morning and night.  I'm being more patient and less crabby.  I'm remembering that feeling of emptiness from the dream. I don't ever want to lose my B.

Just want to remind you to love the people in your life, especially your significant other, who it seems like it's so easy to get comfortable with--and sometimes in a bad way where you start to take their presence for granted. Imagine your life if they suddenly were taken away from you and all that would imply.  Think about the impact in your child's life if you have children together.

Saturday morning...

many of us were sadly greeted by the news of the events in Japan.  Many people were facing the horror of losing loved ones, like I had just experienced in my dream.  But their pain and grief was real.  They had no idea that was coming.  And we don't either.  Just make sure you focus more on love and not on the petty things in life that surely don't matter...

My Etsy Shopping Spree

Dear Friends,

Recently I went on a little shopping spree for Brixton on Etsy. If you don't know, Etsy is a website that allows regular, crafty people to sell their wares and you can find some amazing homemade stuff on there.

I've never been an online shopper, but I have to admit it was so much fun to come home every day and find a little package waiting for me to open.

We aren't hippies (though Brendan says that sometimes I smell like one), but I'm loving the handmade vibe and natural materials.  I know Brixton will have plenty of plastic toys too, so I wanted to get him some fun wooden cars and such to balance that out.  Plus, maybe one day he can pass them down to his kids (or just use them as kindling..whatever).

Again, I have to thank Oma Kathy & Grandpa Keith, as they kicked Brixton down a little cash gift which I used to pay for this stuff.  Thanks guys, you are already wonderful grandparents.

So, here's what I got~and I've included a link to the shop if you find anything you love too!

1. Sock Elephant
Let me tell you a little something--I hate stuffed animals.  Kids never seem to play with them and they just take up space.  But I knew that I had to provide a chance to some little animal somewhere to be Brix's new friend.  So when I found this cute little guy on Sheri94, I knew we had a match. She makes other animals too--like monkeys, frogs and horses. (if you click on the pic, the link will direct you to the shop)

2. Onesie With Tie
My favorite "theme" for little Brixton to dress to is "Little Gentleman."  I just think that's so cute. When I spied these onesies on We Choose Joy, I saw all sorts of possibilities: church, holidays, a Sunday stroll. The ties themselves are stitched on, rather than pressed or ironed on, and I really like that.

3. Wooden Cars & Inchy
There's something about wooden toys that I just love.  Maybe it's the smell or the craftsmanship. When I was 20 I went to Berlin and stayed with a German family.  They had 3 kids and had only wooden or natural material toys.  I thought that was pretty neat and apparently it made an impression.  The Talking Tree makes all kinds of wooden toys-from cars to blocks to little pull-alongs on wheels.

4. Wool Sweater
I know I should just be thinking spring, but I can't help but to think ahead to the next cold winter when I'll be responsible for keeping a little mister warm.  Again, trying to go along with the "Little Gentleman" theme, I found this adorable, handmade sweater, which is appropriately named "Little Gentleman." The shop, Velocity, is small, but the quality of the work is excellent and the wool was so soft--not scratchy like you might expect.  Almost makes me look forward to winter.  Almost.

5. Wooden State Teethers
I could have chosen about 10 of these wooden teethers, as they just came in the cutest shapes imaginable (I was partial to the cupcake and the submarine myself) but I felt like we needed to give shout-outs to our home states with California and New Jersey teethers.  Little Sapling Toys makes more than teethers though--try blocks, puzzles, stackers and cars.  Seriously though, check them out.

I have a few more things to show you, but think this post has gone on long enough for now!  Tune in for the next installment of "My Etsy Shopping Spree!"

30 Week Bump Report: By Brixton

Burrr gurgle bur gurgle gurgle.

Just kiddin' y'all.  It's me--Brixton.  What?  You didn't think I could type yet or even think? Puh. I know what you're thinking right now fool.

(Pause).

Okay, Mommy said that's rude and inappropriate.  She also told me the way I was flashing around my P-dizzle in my 20 week ultrasound appointment was rude and inappropriate and that I'm already grounded when I come out.

(kick, jab)

So I'm 30 weeks now and I'm pretty handsome for a fetus. I've got the world on a string and it's connected to my stomach (snare drum).

(kick kick)

Mommy's always talking to me and then this "Daddy" character comes over and gets real close and says hi.  Like he knows me or somethin'.  I can tell when that guy tries to feel me move, so if his dirty paw touches mommy's stomach I just stop movin'.  End of story. Mommy gets a little disappointed in me though.  Hold on a sec...

(jab, kick, body roll)

Ok.  I'm back.  I'm pretty excited to break outta here.  Mommy's been talking about all these toys she bought me and a cool hat that I'd like to see.  Plus, she sounds really nice for someone so moody.  I'm sure she'll never get moody with me--right Mommy? Who's the boss now?

(kick, rib punch, jab, bladder kick)

Hee hee.  I'm a hellion that's for sure, but I guess half of me comes from this place called New Jersey, so if you talk bad about my family I'll have to make some calls.  Yeah, it's like that. Don't be a wise guy.  Or a banana.

But then again, the other half of me is from this fruity, crunchy land called California, so maybe I'll balance out.  Guess that explains the whole cloth-diaper thing.  Can't wait to blow those out.

Here I am!

Shhh..I'm sleeping..

Clearly, I look like my Daddy.  Anyone who knows Daddy knows about the turtle face, which I am currently making here. Mommy can't wait to kiss those little lips!

Some more stuff:

-I weigh 4 lbs. according to the measurements and am in the 84th percentile for my size.  Mommy was a little daunted by that, but has heard that these measurements can be way off.

-I have very long legs.

-I have a "beautiful cerebellum," that's what the tech said.  Mommy and Daddy know they always say this, but it was still nice to hear.

-My head is already down and I'm ready to go.

-My booty is what's been hurting Mommy's ribs since I'm curved under them.
